The September Movies I’m Most Looking Forward To

September is just a little over a week away and there are a handful of movies coming out that month that I’m either at least interested in or flat-out excited for. Here are the movies I’m looking forward to watching in September:

  1. BEELEJUICE BEETLEJUICE (Sept 6th) - I like the original film like everyone else does, but I’m not the BIGGEST fan of it. It doesn’t hold a special place in my hart or anything. But I have to admit the trailers have gotten me on board with this sequel.

  2. THE KILLER’S GAME (Sept 13th) - What can I say? I’m a sucker for Dave Bautista. I just like the guys and get a kick out of him on screen. Pair him up with his Guardians Of The Galaxy cohort Pom Klementieff in an off the wall action-comedy… sign me up!

  3. MY OLD ASS (Sept 13th) - Like most people I originally fell in love with Aubrey Plaza on Parks And Rec, but man she has continued to evolve an impress since her time on that show. Put her in just about anything (I can’t wait to see her in Agatha All Along) and I’m there.

  4. SPEAK NO EVIL (Sept 13th) - This James McAvoy, Mackenzie Davis film first got on my radar back at CinemaCon in April. I was floored by it. McAvoy is absolutely TERRIFYING in the preview and the film looks stressful as hell. As a side note I think Mackenzie Davis is criminally underused in Hollywood right now.

  5. TRANSFORMERS ONE (Sept 20th) - This is another movie that the presentation at CinemaCon completely won me over with. I had questions about the wisdom of putting out yet another rendition of the Autobots/Decepticons, but the preview they showed us in Vegas sold me. I don’t think this is going to be a good movie… I think it’s going to be GREAT. And the reactions it’s been getting from festivals seem to back that up. We’ll see.

  6. NEVER LET GO (Sept 20th) - This little mystery/thriller/horror with Halle Berry has all the potential to be either great or horrible, but something about the trailers have hooked me. Berry is one of our cinematic treasures and this is a very different kind of movie for her. Has sort of a Sixth Sense feel to it.

  7. THE WILD ROBOT (Sept 27th) - There aren’t a lot of trailers that make me emotional. The Wild Robot’s first trailer did. This MIGHT be my most anticipated movie of the month. It looks visually gorgeous, the story seems emotionally connective and I’m just dying to see what happens to the stupid duck. Can’t wait for this.
