DEADPOOL 3 SHOWS THE POWER OF ONE GREAT MOVIE - POLL SHOWS PEOPLE NOW MORE EXCITED FOR FUTURE MCU FILMS

Winning cures everything. It’s a saying I use a lot around here because a big win changes things. Take for example the recent Deadpool And Wolverine film. Before this movie came out, the general feeling surrounding Marvel and MCU was, if not negative, then at least lukewarm. Yes, the MCU has had some big wins since Endgame, but the feeling amongst most fans was that it had slowed down and excitement levels for the future of the MCU had slowed with it.

But then comes Deadpool And Wolverine. A marvelous (no pun intended), entertaining film that got so many people out to see it, and see it multiple times, it crossed the billion dollar mark in just 3 weekends. People loved it. And that love has influenced how moviegoers are now looking at the MCU as a whole.

Earlier I read an article stating that enthusiasm for future MCU films was now at the highest it’s been in years. But there was no data given to back up that claim, so I decided to do my own little “study”. I put up a poll asking this question:

“After seeing Deadpool And Wolverine, are people now MORE excited for future MCU projects, LESS excited, or UNCHANGED in their excitement?”

After 1000 responses the results looked like this:

MORE: 71%
LESS: 3%
UNCHANGED: 26%

What’s the point? The importance and the power of a GREAT movie go well beyond just if that movie is a success on its own. It can have a much deeper-reaching effect of changing the perceptions and anticipation levels of moviegoers for later movies. The opposite is obviously true as well, a TERRIBLE movie can not only fail itself but also harm future films.

Deadpool and Wolverine isn’t just a huge win for itself (as a critically loved Billion Dollar film) but it has also changed the conversation around the MCU. ~John
